channel meteorologist scott williams joins us now live in the studio. good morning to you, scott. another storm? >> absolutely, veronica. this is the eighth named storm of the 2010 season and its name is hermine. it could bring some problems along the texas coast. right now, as we take a look at the slaert perspective you can see the deep convection right now in the southern gulf of mexico. that will bring heavy rainfall, flash flooding as we move into the lone star state. not only for your labor day but as we move through the middle part of the week as well. you can see the rain bands continuing to come in around corpus christi and eventually into houston. not everything you see making it to the ground. as we expand the view across the nation here on this labor day, a few light sprinkles around the great lakes and also into the northern plains. as we move into florida looking for some scattered showers and some thunderstorms for today. so over the next 48 hours, look at the heavy rainfall. that bull's-eye in south texas upwards of 10 inches before all is said and done with this tropical

. ktvu's kraig debro joins us live from pittsburg with details. >> reporter: good morning. recovery and search teams will not be using the cadaverrer dogs that are used to find bodies so many times. they say there's too much of an area and too many smells. frederick sales has been missing and they believe he's in the keller canyon area since then. >> they may have had a piece of letterhead with a hercules letter on it. but that's it. >> reporter: search crews, three police officers and volunteers are looking for a body, and not a survivor. police say frederick sales was brought her unknowingly for bringing him -- unknowingly by trash garbage. it's believed valdamoro stole an escalade from one of the vallejo woman and used it to put frederick sales's body in a dumpster where he used to work. >> the business park is also in close proximity to the crepe myrtle residence where the older sales was found. >> reporter: police say the home's owned by the suspect's girlfriend. the saleses and another woman rented rooms from the owner. police say valdamoro was jealous of cindy tran, his girlf

. >> david, the president was in full campaign mode today. what does that tell us about the political landscape this fall? >> it's still very, very tough. i think that's why you see the president both ramping up his campaigning personally and ramping up the rhetoric against republicans. he's trying to frame the debate for the fall campaign. it's all about the economy. 9.6% unemployment, a housing crisis that continues to affect americans across the country and here you see the president really sharpening his knives, sharpening his message for republicans saying, things are tough, but these guys opposing me don't have better ideas. >> is there a national democratic or is it district by district out there? >> it's both. the president at the top of the ticket, if you will, though he's not on the ballot, is trying to frame this as a choice election. the president knows if it's just about him, a referendum on his leadership, democrats could be hurt around the country. he and fellow democrats want to make it a choice to say, things may be tough, you may be unhappy with how things are going
